We wanted to equip teachers, mothers and caregivers of 4-5-year-olds with ways to introduce their children to letters in age-appropriate ways that do not require the knowledge needed later for early reading years of the Foundation Phase, and in a way that would spark their interest, and nurture their curiosity about the world around them. 

 

This book forms part of the AmazingBrainz Learning Programmes for 4-5-year-olds where children are beginning to recognise and write their own names. The purpose of this book is not to teach them the sounds of the letters, but only letter recognition, while learning a few new facts about interesting animals at the same time.
